You followed the plan. You counted, you measured, you tried. And a few months later, you were right back where you started, a little more tired, a little more convinced that maybe you're just "bad at dieting."
You're not. Your plan was.
Here's what usually goes wrong, and what coaching looks like when it's actually done right.
It starts with more than food.
Most plans zoom in on your plate and stop there. But nobody eats in a vacuum - your sleep, your stress levels, the fact that you haven't moved your body in three days, all of it shapes what your body actually needs. When we sit down with a client, food is one part of a much bigger conversation. Sleep and stress aren't side notes. They're often the real story.
It respects that you have an actual life.
A plan copy-pasted from someone else's body, someone else's schedule, someone else's cravings was never going to survive contact with your Tuesday. Your conditions, your routine, the food you grew up on — a plan has to bend around your life, not the other way around.
It moves at the speed of a habit, not a resolution.
The Monday-morning overhaul - new gym, new grocery list, no sugar, ever - rarely survives past Thursday. What actually works is smaller and slower: one habit this week, one more the next, until they've quietly stacked into a completely different life. There's no shortcut here, and honestly, that's the point.
It starts with questions, not answers.
Before any plan gets written, the real work is figuring out why the last one didn't stick. What time do you actually eat dinner? What happens when you're stressed - do you skip meals, or reach for something sweet? Good coaching listens for the answer underneath the answer, including the things a client doesn't say outright.
It's built for years, not weeks.
A plan that promises fast results and delivers a fast rebound wasn't really a plan - it was a countdown. The goal isn't the number on the scale next month. It's still eating well, sleeping better, and feeling steady a decade from now.
If your last plan felt generic, rigid, or like it quietly gave up on you within a few weeks - that's not a reflection on you. That's a sign it was never built to last.
That gap is exactly why Mighty Millets exists.
