High protein Bhakri-Pizza

"I think of dieting, and then I eat a Pizza!"

Who doesn’t love pizzas? This dish is labelled as ‘junk’ food because of it's high calories and unhealthy contents. Let me give you a healthy twist on the traditional pizza designed by me to ensure that you don’t stop eating your favourite food and still achieve your health goals. Read on!

  • No saturated fat and very tasty! 


1.   For Pizza Sauce –

Ingredients:

In 1 tsp oil - 

  • 1 finely chopped onion  
  • 1 finely chopped capsicum
  • 4-5 crushed garlic cloves
  • 4 finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 small grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup steamed sweet corn
  • ½ cup broccoli
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

 

Method:

  • Heat a pan. Add 1 spoon oil/ ghee.
  • Add onion and garlic. Saute for 1 min. Add capsicum. Saute further for 1 min.
  • Add tomatoes, carrot, sweet corn and broccoli. Heat until water evaporates.
  • Add chili powder, garam masala and salt. Cook for 2 min.
  • Keep Aside

 

2.   For topping -

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup finely chopped onion  
  • ½ cup finely chopped capsicum
  • ¼ cup olives
  • ¼ cup paneer
  • 1 cheese cube

3.   For the base -

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup jowar flour
  • ¼ cup bajra flour
  • ¼ cup moong / soya flour
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • Salt to taste

 

Method:

  • Mix the flour, spices and make a dough by adding water.
  • Divide into equal parts and roll to make roti.
  • On a heated pan, place the rolled roti, roast for a minute, turn it, roast for a min again. While on the pan (griddle), spread thick layer of pizza sauce and top it with onions, capsicum, olives and mushrooms. Add oregano and chilli flakes.
  • Put 4 tbsp of paneer and 1 tbsp of grated cheese evenly over it. Cover it with a lid and cook for 2 minutes. Take off the lid and roast it till it becomes crispy. Serve hot. Repeat same process for others.


Protip -  You can pre-make all the bhakris to save time.
